Tone vs Mood
Today we continued our lesson on rhetorical devices. We learned about mood and tone. Many writers have to consider their tone depending on different audiences. For example, you wouldn’t go to your mom yelling if she asked you to do the dishes. She most likely would say that you should change your tone. Although tone and mood may seem alike they are different in many ways. While tone is how you speak, mood is how the speaking make you feel or the atmosphere. Like if a writer wrote about a how he/ she went in a date and had dim lights and slow music playing , the mood or atmosphere would be romantic. Different settings affect your mood or how you view a character.
