I was informed that school has officially moved to online. This may be a good thing to some but to me I miss being in a classroom setting. Being with my friends and being interactive with lessons was what made me want to go to school everyday. Now we have to switch and it isn’t going to be hard but it will be an adjustment.

This was the first week of “quarantine” and I started in my work for school. It has been pretty boring and I wish to see my friends. Week 1

We had another free day we’re we discussed different topics and life topics. It was fun to be able to relax again and take a break.

The day after ACT

Today was a very relaxing day. All Juniors has taken the ACT Tuesday and we were tired. I was happy that our teacher allowed us to be relaxed without having any strenuous work. We watched a few short films. My favorite had to be “Hair Love.” This short film was about a young child who wanted a hairstyle that her mother had done previous times. She struggled to achieve it so she went to her dad for help. The dad couldn’t help and was very stressed out. Then the child showed him a video of her mom doing the style and they then achieved the style. They then left to see her mother who had finally recovered from cancer. It was a saying in the moms video “It just takes a little bit of work and a whole lotta love.” Meaning that if you love something you do whatever it takes to accomplish that task.

3-4-2020

Today in class we did Annotative Bibliography. Using this can help when analyzing a text. We were introduced to this and got to practice it. This method is easy and an efficient way to analyze the text.

We went over composing and stating claims. We was given a passage and was given instructions to make up 5 claims. We had to use the sources given and also pull evidence from the sources. The sources were helpful. One thing the sources do is persuade you. If more of the sources are leaning towards a certain position then it would be easier to go to that position and create claims for that position. In the end it is getting easier and is a way to prepare us for the ACT.
